Main components of this Equipment include heating chamber, gantry crane unit, barrel inverter, rail, asphalt droplets recycle system, diesel burner, built-in boiler (include heat transfer oil mantle layer), hydraulic propulsion unit, air duct heating system, pipeline heating system, bitumen pump and pipeline system, automatic temperature control system, automatic liquid level alarm system and electrical control system; all these components are installed on one substructure (or in the heating chamber), forming an integrated structure. 




Open the upper cover of bitumen barrel; elevate it by the electrical hoist on the beam of gantry crane; move the barrel onto the barrel inverter. The barrel is bottomed up and pushed onto the tray on the rail by hydraulic propulsion unit, then to the upper compartment of the heating chamber; one barrel pushes the other one next to it forward and all barrels keep moving forward; empty barrels and trays are pushed out on the other end of the heating chamber. This Equipment works in-line and the aforesaid procedures can be repeated at a certain frequency.

Heating chamber consists of two compartment, upper compartment and lower compartment. There are coiled pipelines which convey heat transfer oil in the upper compartment, hot emission air of diesel burner also exhausts into the upper compartment; heat transfer oil and hot emission air work together to heat the asphalt barrel. When bitumen become melt, it drops down to lower compartment, finally the barrel is emptied. The lower compartment is a melting bitumen pool, beneath it is another compartment which has a lot of coiled heat transfer oil pipelines and a duct for the hot emission air to pass through; the heat transfer oil and hot emission air keep heating the melting bitumen until it becomes liquid; then bitumen pump starts and pump the liquid bitumen to bitumen storage tank through bitumen pipelines. Filtrating device is installed in bitumen pipelines to remove the impurities in the bitumen.

Doors on both end of the heating chamber are spring doors that are automatically shut immediately after barrels come through it. Spring doors are easy for barrels coming in and getting out, and able to minimize heat loss as well.

The above operation procedures are all conducted under the centralized control of electrical control cabinet. Monitoring instruments and safety devices are also provided in the control cabinet.

1. Structure of this Equipment is a closed chamber with spring doors on both ends. Bitumen barrels are elevated by a small gantry crane and then pushed into the heating chamber by hydraulic propulsion unit. The Equipment is of nice shape, compact and neat design, high production efficiency, stable and reliable performance, no bitumen waste or pollution; and it is able to operate under all kinds of working conditions.

2. Fast barrel removal. The heat radiation area of the coiled heat transfer oil pipelines in the Equipment is very large; it takes very short time to melt bitumen and improves production efficiency to a large degree. The heating coils (heat transfer oil pipelines) are divided into small sections and each section is independently controlled; heat can be properly allocated between upper compartment and lower compartment so as to ensure synchronization between barrel removing and asphalt liquefying. Hot emission air from diesel burner is also recycled to heating bitumen; thus diesel energy is utilized to a maximum degree. Built-in boiler ensures direct heat transference and reduces heat loss. The whole heating chamber is enclosed by thickened premium rock wool heat insulation panels; so the heat preservation is excellent.

3. Completely bitumen removal from barrel. Temperature in heating chamber is quite high, and each barrel can be heated by hot emission air and heating coils closed to it; thus bitumen get melt and drop down very quickly and completely from barrels, and there is no bitumen adhere to barrel and there is almost no waste.

4. Automatic impurity removal. This Equipment has a function of automatic impurity removal. Filtration devices are installed in bitumen pipelines, and impurities in the barrelled bitumen can be removed by such filtration devices.

5. Automatic temperature control. The start /stop of diesel burner are controlled by the temperature of bitumen and heat transfer oil.

6. Customization. The Equipment can be customized according to the dimension of bitumen barrel.


This Equipment is a perfect integration of heat transfer oil boiler and decanting device, saving land coverage and transportation cost of heat transfer oil boiler. The Equipment recycles the emission air and adopts built-in boiler which heats asphalt directly, thus heat loss is reduced greatly and heat utilization efficiency is improved.

After remove the upper cover of bitumen barrels, the former bitumen decanting machine require a worker to bottom up barrels; in addition, bitumen drop down to ground when moving the bottom-up barrels to rail. LYDT bitumen decanting machine overcome the aforesaid troubles, saving labor and getting rid of bitumen waste and pollution.

By placing each bitumen barrel on one tray and then moving them on rails, LYDT bitumen decanting machine overcome the shortcomings of former decanting machine, e.g. heavy frictional force, clogged moving and deformation of rail and asphalt barrels when pushing barrels forward directly by hydraulic propulsion device.
